The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg has set itself the goal of becoming a "bicycle-friendly university". We would be happy to inform you about implemented and planned measures for all cycling fans at the THA.
Cycling is not only healthy, it also makes you happy! In addition, it is much cheaper, goes much faster in the city anyway, helps the climate.
There are many reasons to cycle the daily route to the university. You can participate in these actions and try it yourself:
- By bike to work (login required)
- City cycling (from 05. July - 25. July 2025, registration expected from April)
- Cycling week (from 12 to 20. July 2025)

Permanently parked wheels
Important information on the current identification of bicycles and their removal on 16.10.2025
In order for our employees and students to like to come to the university by bike, it is important that manorless or permanently parked wheels that block valuable storage facilities are removed on a regular basis.
At the beginning of the winter semester 2025, a labelling campaign took place again at the H-Bau, Campus Brunnenlech and at the Rotes Tor campus and in the underground car park Building J.
The wheels were marked with a banderole of the THA on 16.09.2025 and are removed on 16.10.2025 and then stored for 2 months. Until then, you can find out more about the bicycle commissioner of THA, DW -3680 or by e-mail about [Bitte aktivieren Sie Javascript] to mark your bike.
After the removal on 16.10.2025, bicycles can be picked up again at Department IV by appointment.
The distance of the wheels was photographed and logged. Uncollected bikes go after a non-profit organization.

The swa offers the Campus Card not only the semester ticket for the use of public transport, but also the same advantages and conditions as the swa subscription customers.
Business bike leasing "JobBike"
For employees of the THA, the business bike leasing is now possible.
If you are interested, log in to the Bayern Employee Service and click on the service “JobBike Bayern”. There you can find out more about the offer, register free of charge on the JobBike platform and independently apply for the business bike leasing.
Train app "DB Rad+" is available for Augsburg
Paying with pedals – that’s how it works
You install the DB Rad+ app and activate it as soon as you are in the action area with your own or a borrowed bike. Without having to register separately, the app counts all routes driven. The collected kilometers are then exchanged for discounts or premiums at participating partners.
The premium partners are local shops, cafes or other companies where the cyclists can redeem their kilometer credit for small rewards. These premiums are provided by the partner shops at their own expense, because they are strong for cycling.

New service station and hose machine now also at the Rotes Tor campus
Thanks to the great commitment of the student representative, this second bicycle repair station at the Rotes Tor campus was realized.
In addition to the repair column, there is also an automatic hose machine with a range of different hose sizes and valves.
The service stations are currently receiving new pumps and should function again in a timely manner (13.2.2025)
