Microcomputers have become an indispensible integral component of most electrical appliances. Understanding microcomputers and learning how to work with them, both with regard to hardware and to low-level programming, is an important part of the engineering course. Lab courses are held in microcomputer engineering and digital engineering, allowing students to work on their diploma theses and projects in the field of embedded systems.

The laboratory provides work stations for developing microcontroller applications. Each work station is equipped with a multi-channel storage oscilloscope with analog and digital inputs, as well as a logic analyzer and a signal generator. Single board systems on the basis of the microcontroller 68332, Atmel, PIC and Texas Instruments, along with the corresponding development systems, are used.
