Single parents students

Single mothers and fathers often have particular difficulties balancing studies/work and raising children. Here, single parents can find information brochures with numerous suggestions and tips.

• The city of Augsburg has published a brochure for single parents in Augsburg. It contains a wealth of helpful information and checklists. The online version of the brochure can be found here.

• The Federal Association of Single Mothers and Fathers (VSL) has published numerous information brochures on various topics related to single parents. An overview of these publications can be found here.

Madame Courage supports single mother students at Bavarian universities during the final phase of their studies.

The temporary funding, valid for a maximum of two semesters, is intended to enable young mothers who lack sufficient financial means to take their final exams. This project is being implemented by the Bavarian Association of the Catholic Women's Social Service in cooperation with Bavarian universities.

Requirements for single mothers are:

• Enrolled at a Bavarian university,
• Residence in Bavaria,
• No sufficient income,
• No entitlement to other funding and support,
• Final phase of the study with
• Prospect of completing the exam,
• Child (children) is (are) already born
