Educational Play Furniture Building System for Children

What We Want
to Change Today’s society suffers from an excess of consumerism, which often takes root as early as childhood. Many of the toys that surround children are not designed to last and have a limited range of functions tailored to a specific age group. Being exposed to an abundance of children’s toys can lead to overstimulation and a shorter attention span in children, which causes unnecessary stress not only for the children but also for their parents. With änny, we aim to counteract this trend and provide children with the foundation to learn, through play, how to independently and creatively apply their ideas using a single, versatile product.
How We Approach
This änny offers a long-term physical learning and developmental environment for parents and children through a modular product system made of wood. In doing so, änny combines the elements of learning, play, and furniture, and supports, encourages, and challenges children through various stages of development. With the help of customizable äddOns made of wood, fabric, and plastic, as well as easy-to-use connection options, children can effortlessly let their imaginations run wild. This transforms the modular system into their own worlds with an unlimited number of building possibilities. At the same time, the product can be adapted to individual needs at any time and used both as children’s furniture and as a learning tool.
In addition, our app will support parents in the future by providing them with helpful information on developmental psychology. As an added feature, the app will offer the opportunity to become part of a community of like-minded parents.
About Us
We are Alina, Jonas, and Alex, and we are developing änny, the physical building system for families. This system enables children to build all their own furniture, toys, and learning tools independently, thereby reducing the burden on the environment, caregivers, and children.
We want to make society more environmentally friendly, more socially conscious, and more mindful. In doing so, we aim to foster children’s creativity and relieve the burden on caregivers by addressing and solving their problems holistically.
