Background

Dairy cows require a lot of time and resources. For years, farmers have been forced to keep expanding their herds, leaving less time for each animal. Monitoring their health is, however, of great importance, as diseases reduce milk production and lead to high follow-up costs.

Real-Time Health Data

HerdTek brings high-tech solutions to dairy farming—for improved animal welfare and greater efficiency. Each cow is fitted with a small sensor on its ear that continuously records all key health data. This data is collected and analyzed in the cloud using our unique AI. Thanks to this powerful technology, HerdTek identifies patterns and anomalies that may indicate diseases and health issues with unprecedented accuracy. The resulting alerts, reports, and recommendations for action can be viewed by our farmers via a web app. This uniquely supports farmers in optimizing decisions, reducing follow-up costs, minimizing antibiotic use, and improving animal welfare.

It is only through our unique combination of specially developed, energy-efficient hardware and innovative software that the use of AI for data analysis becomes possible. This allows for predictions based on correlations that would not be possible with conventional data analysis. Our system is also non-invasive, developed entirely in Augsburg, and specifically designed for durability.

In today’s world, economic efficiency, animal welfare, and sustainability should not be mutually exclusive. Our goal is to develop solutions that help farmers and veterinarians save time, costs, and resources. At the same time, we want to ensure that dairy cows receive better health care.
