Are you an international student approaching graduation? Or an international alumni wondering what’s next? You’re not alone, we’re here for you!

Many international graduates face challenges when entering the German job market. Maybe you're unsure about visa rules, need support with job applications, or want to improve your German. At the same time, employers are looking for talent like yours, but often lack the tools to support your integration.

🎯 Who is this for?

  • International students in their final semesters

  • International alumni who want to grow professionally

  • Employers looking for diverse, skilled professionals

Problem

Like with the "Practical Semester" bridge module, many international students struggle to find suitable jobs after graduation.
They are often unaware of how the university can continue to support them post-graduation, which results in them missing valuable opportunities.

At the same time, employers are looking for skilled workers, but integrating international graduates is often challenging due to:

  • lack of resources,

  • little knowledge in immigration law, or

  • limited intercultural skills needed for individual support.

Specific Needs

  • International alumni often realize only after graduation that their German skills are not strong enough or that their employer expects further qualifications.
  • These alumni hold great potential for the university, e.g. as role models, especially for future MINT (STEM) students or PhD candidates.

  • That's why the university wants to create a sustainable alumni network and develop a qualification program in cooperation with employers.

Solution

Development and implementation of a support system for integrating international graduates into the labor market:

  • Qualification opportunities, such as language courses for alumni

  • Advising and job application training during the final phase of study
(e.g. in collaboration with institutions like the Berufsbildungszentrum Augsburg Schwaben)

  • Support with immigration and financial issues for students

  • Employer coordination point to assist with integration and legal advising

  • Information about further education at the university (e.g. PhD programs)

Additional Benefits

By staying connected with our international alumni, we’re creating a strong network that benefits everyone:

  • Mentoring programs where alumni inspire the next generation

  • Direct links to employers who value international talent

  • Support for students and alumni to find their place in the German job market
