These are the essential parts of the application process. The order of these steps may vary.
Step 1: Nomination
Express your interest in our RI program to the study abroad advisor of your home institution and ask them to nominate you for the RI program at THA. At this stage in the application process, a simple mail from your study abroad advisor to the RI coordinator Frederic Wagner suffices for the nomination.
Step 2: Choosing a project
After the nomination, you pick the project you want to work on during your internship from this list. If you have found a project you like, send a mail (with the RI coordinator Frederic Wagner in CC) to the corresponding project supervisor(s) and ask them whether they take you in as an intern for this project.
The supervisor(s) may inquire about your academic performance to determine whether you are qualified for the project. To that end, they might ask for a Transcript of Records or they might ask you to find an academic referee, i.e. a teacher from your home institution, who can assess your eligibility and fills out the form “Report on Eligibility” (see below).
After the project supervisor decides to take you in as an intern, the RI coordinator will schedule a Zoom meeting with you and the project supervisor to clarify the internship content, fix the start and end date of the internship, settle further details, and discuss the next steps.
Step 3: Internship Contract and Registration at THA
Before you can start your internship, you need to sign an internship contract and register at THA. You will discuss the administrative details of this process with the RI coordinator Frederic Wagner during the previously mentioned Zoom meeting.
If you have any further questions about the application process or prefer a personal consultation, please contact Frederic Wagner, the RI coordinator.
