Incubator Teams

Our Start-ups of Tomorrow!

At Funkenwerk, we help students at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences turn their ideas into real projects.

Here, you’ll meet students from Augsburg University of Applied Sciences who don’t just keep their ideas in their heads—they actually bring them to life at Funkenwerk. In the incubator program, teams from various academic programs further develop their startup ideas—from the first sketch to their own startup. They show what’s possible when curiosity, a can-do attitude, and team spirit come together.

Let their projects inspire you, get to know the people behind the ideas, and discover how an idea becomes a reality, step by step. Maybe you’ll even find the inspiration for your own project here.

Himma

The software solution is designed for sustainability, the environment, and construction

In Arabic, HIMMA means drive, dedication, and the will to achieve a goal—this guides us every day and shows us that “nothing is impossible.” We want to show that … the construction industry can become more digital, faster, and more sustainable—and that change comes from those who experience the problem firsthand every day.

Digital Platforms and Business Models

Shereen Diko founded an innovative database platform that makes it easier for women with immigrant backgrounds and refugee experiences to access important information, services, and networks. The platform offers tailored resources and educational programs to provide these women with the best possible support. In doing so, it creates a space that offers them guidance and opens up new opportunities.

Sustainability, the Environment, and Construction

Cities are facing a growing challenge: rising temperatures, a decline in livability, and increasing pressure on public health, the economy, and infrastructure. In densely developed areas in particular, traditional solutions quickly reach their limits. This is exactly where I come in—with new approaches that keep urban spaces functional, attractive, and livable even under extreme climatic conditions.

A New Approach to Learning Math

Math is one of the subjects in which many students need help. At the same time, traditional tutoring is often expensive, inflexible, and tied to specific locations and times. That’s why Mava is developing a digital learning platform that teaches math in a way that’s easy to understand, interactive, and motivating. The goal is to make learning easier, more effective, and frustration-free.

“Our vision is to help students learn math in a playful, effective, and frustration-free way.”

Digital Platforms and Business Models

Our idea emerged from our own daily work with state-of-the-art business process management software: Instead of helping us improve our processes, we spent hours validating models, writing descriptions, and checking process dependencies. These are all aspects of BPM that would no longer be necessary with the help of simple rules as well as modern AI solutions.
