Incubator Program

Bring your startup idea to life with us!

The Funkenwerk Incubator Program offers comprehensive and diverse support for aspiring entrepreneurs. Our experts and experienced mentors will guide you through an intensive program on your journey to launching your startup.

Over the course of two semesters, your idea will be further developed, refined, and put through its paces in individual coaching sessions and workshops. And it’s worth it: Studies show that the survival rate of startups that grew through incubators is significantly higher than that of other new businesses.

  • Students (Bachelor's and Master's)
  • Research assistants in research projects
  • THA alumni (degree should have been earned no more than 4 years ago)
  • Enthusiasm and Motivation
  • A clever idea (we’ll help you refine it!)
  • Interest in new trends and markets
  • At least one other person (alternatively, we can help you find one)
  • Perseverance and reliability
  • Contact Funkenwerk and schedule a startup consultation
  • We’ll work with you to determine which government funding program (EXIST, Flügge, etc.) best fits your idea
  • Developing your idea in more detail 
  • Submit a written application, including a concept paper

Then sign up directly for a consultation with us. We’re happy to support you here as well and connect you with exciting people from our partner network.

  1. Send Funkenwerk a preliminary notice of your intention to start a business—in any format (ideally by email: funkenwerk@tha.de)
  2. Attend one of the monthly consultation sessions 
  3. Submit a written application. To do this, simply download the application documents, fill them out, and then upload them again (as a PDF)
    • A form with details about the people involved (founding team)
    • A concept outline with keywords regarding the product, target audience, customer benefits, competition, and your USP (What makes the idea special; how does it stand out from others?)
