Delegation of the Higher Colleges of Technology from the United Arab Emirates visits the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Gordon Thomas Rohrmair, President of the THA, emphasized the proximity of the two institutions in terms of content: "The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg and the Higher Colleges of Technology share a common vision and complementary strengths in the fields of applied sciences and technology. Both have extensive expertise and interest in computer science, artificial intelligence, robotics, sustainability, production engineering and design. Developing our innovative solutions and research priorities together can benefit both the UAE and our region."

Visit to the Institute of Textile Technology Augsburg (ITA)
A highlight of the visit was the guided tour of the Institute for Textile Technology Augsburg (ITA). Visitors were particularly impressed by the advanced recycling technologies, machinery and sustainable materials being developed at ITA. These technologies provide solutions for the development of more environmentally friendly production methods.
Presentation of the research structures
Another important item on the agenda was the presentation and discussion of the research structures at the THA, chaired by Prof. Frank Danzinger, Vice President for Technology and Research. The various institutes and technology transfer centres of the THA were presented. These structures enable the effective organization and promotion of research projects and collaborations.
Technology Transfer Center Landsberg (TTZ)

The delegation also visited the TTZ Landsberg, where they gained impressive insights into the research areas of data science and autonomous systems. Prof. Dr. Carsten Markgraf and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Dorn led through the "Industrial MakerSpace" and presented current projects. Particularly noteworthy are the developments in the field of autonomous systems, which have the potential to shape the future of intelligent mobility.

Future prospects and cooperation
During the visit, future cooperation opportunities were also discussed in order to intensify cooperation in the areas of research and teaching. Both institutions were extremely satisfied with the course of the meeting and look forward to a successful cooperation in the future.
