That's new:
- You can log in using your library card number (which can be found on your Campus Card Augsburg).
- When you log in for the first time, please click on ‘Forgotten password’ so that you can set a password for the library catalogue.
- Once the transition phase is complete, THA staff will be able to log in using their IT account. We will provide further details in due course.
- The new library catalogue also seamlessly integrates the interlibrary loan service. The previous interlibrary loan service via the separate Gateway-Bayern portal is no longer necessary.
- The InfoGuide app is no longer working. The new catalogue has a mobile-friendly layout. We are currently looking into whether we can integrate the new catalogue into the THA Campus app or offer a new catalogue app.
Background information on the old and new library systems
For over 30 years, OCLC's SISIS-SunRise library system has been used in numerous libraries, and the THA Library (formerly the University of Applied Sciences Library) has been using the system since 1996. However, SISIS is no longer being developed by the manufacturer. For this reason, the Bavarian Library Network sought and found a new system for all university and college libraries: the open-source library system FOLIO.
The first pilot library, the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt, went live with FOLIO in August 2024. All other libraries are to be migrated gradually by the end of 2027. All migrations are being supported by the Bavarian Library Network, the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, the teams at the libraries that have already migrated, and the large FOLIO community.
FOLIO stands for “Future of Libraries is Open” and is a cloud-based, modern, modular, and cooperatively developable library management system that better meets the requirements of digital transformation. It is already in use in numerous libraries worldwide.
FOLIO supports all central business processes of the library, e.g., acquisition, inventory management, license management of e-resources, borrowing/returning, reminders, interlibrary loans, open access processes, and reporting.
