Laboratory area
Hydraulics
Belongs toLaboratory for Fluid Technology
Academic leadershipNN
RoomF 1.13
Laboratory belongs to

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

Workstations8
HistoryThe laboratory area was set up in 1991 and continuously expanded until 2010.
Tasks and objectivesThe most important basics of oil hydraulics can be demonstrated and applied in practice with the experiments conducted.
Laboratory equipment

Measuring devices and equipment for the experiments

  • Line losses
  • Friction losses in hydraulic cylinder
  • Relationship between oil pressure and cylinder force
  • Pressure relief valve
  • Pipe rupture (simulation)
  • Expansion of hydraulic hoses under pressure
  • Hydraulic differential
  • Throttle valve
  • Flow divider valve
  • Two-way flow control valve
  • Three-way flow control valve
  • Storage circuits

Laboratory belongs to

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

Workstations6
HistoryUntil 2004, the laboratory area was still in operation with old equipment, until reconstruction with up-to-date components finally began.
Tasks and objectivesWith the available experiments, the most important basics of compressed air technology can be demonstrated and applied in practice.
Laboratory equipment

Measuring devices and equipment for the experiments:

  • Analog circuits with throttle valves, logic valves, pulse and switching valves, and cylinders
  • Analog circuits with check valves, oscillator circuit, counter, time delay, pulse valves, cylinder and swing motor
  • PLC-controlled circuits with 3/2- and 5/2-way valves, cylinders with reed contacts as position sensors and mechanical position switches
