Students from Ukraine are strongly recommended to register with the immigration authorities and the AnKER Center - at the latest when they receive their admission to study. You can find more information about registration here:

As a refugee, you are entitled to social benefits in Germany. This also includes training costs within the framework of the so-called Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz (BAföG). You also have the opportunity to apply for various scholarships that are specifically aimed at refugees.

Our Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication offers language classes (German as a foreign language) in order to prepare you for your studies or to help you to improve your language skills while you are studying.

WIR is a buddy program to help international students during their first time in Augsburg and at a German unversity.

Tutors for degree students („Auslandstutoren“)

Our tutors are students at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences themselves and are available for degree students as personal contacts at the faculties. They support degree students at the start of and during their studies.

Foreign qualifications 

Uni-assists is responsible to check whether non-German degrees are equivalent to German degrees.

This check can be offered free of charge to refugees.
