Mentoring: WomenGoTop

Our ProfiMentoring WomenGoTop always starts in the winter semester (approx. end of October/beginning of November)

Duration: 2 semesters (until July of the following year)

Time required: individual, approx. 4 hours per month

• Matching of the tandems by the Women's Representative Office in October
• Kick-off event in November
• Regular meetings of the tandems consisting of professional mentor and professional mentee (by personal arrangement)
• An accompanying and qualification program offers themed evenings over the two semesters, qualification seminars and network meetings
• A Bavaria-wide supporting program enables further free participation in top-class seminars at all universities participating in BayernMentoring
• Automatic admission to our university women's network KESS (see also KESS network)
• Supervision and coaching can be offered if problems arise
• A final eventwith a network meeting closes the loop in the summer

Please note:

As a student, you commit to take advantage of the offers within the framework of ProfiMentoring when you register.

This includes Participation in the kick-off and closing events, participation in at least two offers from the accompanying and framework program during the year (soft skills seminars, BayernMentoring framework program throughout Bavaria, network meetings, theme evenings), as well as regular and proactive contact with your mentor (at least monthly contact).

The next mentoring cycle will start in the winter semester 2025/26

The kick-off event is expected to take place in November 2025.

Matching the tandems

How do professional mentors and professional mentees come together?

A tandem always consists of a mentor and her mentee. A mentor can also support several mentees, in which case these are individual tandems.

Matching is not based purely on professional expertise, but also takes into account common interests and the mentee's wishes for advice. Professionalism is important, but is often only one criterion for a well-functioning mentoring relationship!

Matching is based on suggestions from the Matorixmatch tool, a specially developed matching software that takes into account your professional specialization as well as personal interests, areas of focus, etc. and so suggests the best matches.

These are then carefully checked by us and approved if they are a good fit.

It is particularly important to us that you feel comfortable with your tandem partner, whether as a mentor or mentee. That's why it's not just the subject area that matters! The focus is on getting to know each other personally. A tandem can be re-matched if it is not a good fit.
