Dear doctoral candidates,


During the winter semester, the THA Graduate School is offering a seminar on “Good Scientific Practice and the Prevention of Scientific Misconduct”. The seminar consists of a total of three sessions:

  • October 23, 2026 (9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., online)
  • December 4, 2026 (9:30 a.m.–2:45 p.m., online)
  • January 21, 2027 (9:30 a.m.–2:45 p.m., online)

In addition to these sessions, there will be a self-study phase. Your instructor will be Dr. Anne-Kathrin Kleine.

Seminar description

 

In this seminar, participants will gain an overview of the most important national and international regulations governing adherence to good scientific practice, while also learning that there are gray areas between good and bad practice. Designed to promote interactivity and self-reflection, this seminar places special emphasis on the topics of good scientific practice in the handling of research data, supervision and conflicts, as well as publication and authorship.

For doctoral candidates in the structured doctoral program offered by the doctoral centers, attending this seminar fulfills the mandatory requirement to participate in the academic training course on “Good Scientific Practice and the Prevention of Scientific Misconduct.” The seminar is offered regularly during the summer semester.
