This advanced course builds upon Technical English I and is designed as direct preparation for students’ future careers in civil engineering. Aimed at students from the 2nd to 7th semester, it develops the professional English skills required to operate confidently in national and international construction and infrastructure projects.

The course focuses on practical communication tasks that civil engineers encounter in their professional work, with particular emphasis on:

• Conducting and leading negotiations with clients, contractors and international partners
• Presenting, explaining and evaluating construction and infrastructure projects
• Technical discussions on bridges, tunnel construction, international rail track systems and façade technology
• Participating in and leading on-site team meetings
• Communicating project risks, schedules and costs
• Drafting and analysing contracts, tender documents and statements of work (SOW)
• Writing professional correspondence, reports and project documentation
• Managing communication in international and intercultural project environments

Through case studies, simulations and project-based tasks, students practise realistic workplace scenarios and strengthen clarity, precision and professionalism in spoken and written English.
