Technology Transfer

One of the core competencies of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) is technology and knowledge transfer. Ideas flow both from the university to the outside world and from business and society back into the university. On an equal footing and with mutual benefit for the transfer partners, this approach leads to the development of solutions that deliver genuine added value and can be applied immediately on-site. In this way, the THA serves as an institution for education and continuing professional development, as a founding partner for highly sought-after professionals, and as a research and development partner.

In doing so, the THA draws on its long-standing, strong network of connections with companies and partners in the community. It reaches out to companies of all sizes—from the greater Augsburg area and Bavarian Swabia to international locations—as well as community partners in the region. At its Augsburg campus, the THA provides the central point of contact for interested technology transfer partners through the Institute for Technology and Knowledge Transfer (ITW). At the same time, it maintains a physical presence beyond Augsburg in the Bavarian Swabia region and, through its technology transfer centers, facilitates key technology transfer interfaces.
