Research, Community Engagement, and Innovation for the Region
The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg develops innovative solutions for the region in collaboration with companies at its five Technology Transfer Centers (TTZ) located in Nördlingen, Donauwörth, Landsberg am Lech, Aichach, and Gersthofen.

The TTZs at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg are specifically geared toward the needs of industry and skilled trades in Bavarian Swabia and the cities and counties where they are located—yet the impact of their research extends far beyond the region.
TTZs are important partners for businesses
For companies—including those in the manufacturing, construction, and skilled trades sectors—the THA’s Technology Transfer Centers (TTZs) are key partners in various critical areas. They turn to the TTZ researchers to collaborate on developing innovative solutions for their real-world needs and to design tailored continuing education programs.
Research Results for Specific Needs
The TTZs produce research results addressing specific business needs. These are immediately applied locally and then transferred as blueprints beyond the region. This leads to the development of new technologies through joint research projects. Likewise, THA students and company employees regularly participate in seminars and continuing education programs offered by the TTZs. Young researchers are part of the TTZ as part of their doctoral projects.
Technology Transfer Centers are an initiative funded by the Free State of Bavaria. They are currently receiving funding during their start-up phase as part of the Bavarian High-Tech Agenda.
