For over 300 years, the Faculty of Design has combined an artistic and creative identity rooted in experimental, practice-oriented process with critical-theoretical reflection. The focus has always been on people and their natural and social environments.
The Faculty of Design fosters creative, conceptual, and technological skills so that students can develop into independent, reflective designers who are well-prepared for the evolving creative industries as well as for roles in business, culture, and society. The intensive and personalized support in teaching and research reflects this culture and represents an investment in the future. After all, our students bear the responsibility of developing sustainable ways of life and identifying practical paths toward achieving them.
The faculty is distinguished by both the diversity of its bachelor’s and master programs and the breadth of subject areas within each program. The range of topics covered in teaching and research not only reflects the economic, social and technical demands of our time but is also geared toward future challenges and fields of work.
