Information on Enrollment

Once your application has been successfully submitted, you can check our application portal (HISinOne) to see if you have received an offer of admission.
If you are admitted, the admission letter will also be available for download there.

For applications to programs with limited enrollment, you’ll receive this information via the hochschulstart.de portal, where an admission letter will be generated online for you at “hochschulstart.de” after you accept the offer of admission.

Admission letters for master programs are currently still sent by mail. 

If you have received an admission notice for a spot in a program, please note the deadline for online enrollment specified therein. Your spot in the program is considered accepted only after you have submitted your enrollment application via our application portal (HISinOne). Do not miss this deadline under any circumstances, as otherwise your offer of admission will expire and your spot will be awarded to other applicants who are still on the waiting list. An extension is only possible in a few justified exceptional cases.

Along with your admission, you’ll receive the most important information regarding the amounts of the various fees and the payment procedures.

• Semester
  Ticket With your Campus Card, along with your ID card or passport, you can use all regional and city transit lines (buses, trams, VGA buses, and DB trains without surcharges in AVV Zones 10 and 20). People with severe disabilities are entitled to free transportation upon presentation of proof and do not need to pay the fee for the semester ticket (see the “Fees and Contributions” table). • Studentenwerk
  Fee The Augsburg Studentenwerk offers various services related to your studies, including assistance with applying for BAföG, housing and room placement, social and legal counseling, as well as student dining halls and cafeterias. Students are also required to cover a small portion of these costs.

Special Cases Regarding Enrollment
As a general rule, you may only enroll at one German university. Dual enrollment is only possible in special cases and requires the approval of both institutions. Enrollment in more than one degree program is also only possible in exceptional cases. More information on this is available at the Student Affairs Office.

If you have applied for online enrollment through the application portal (HISinOne), you will receive an information sheet in the portal outlining the next steps. 

• Please apply in advance to a statutory health insurance provider for a so-called M10 notification, which will then be sent to us digitally by the respective health insurance provider.
  If you have private health insurance, you must apply for an exemption from the statutory health insurance provider.
• Please upload your proof of payment for the semester fee (see information sheet) to the application portal (HISinOne).

Persons with severe disabilities who are entitled to free transportation under Book IX of the Social Code and who possess the supplementary sheet with the corresponding token are not required to pay the fee for the semester ticket and are asked to submit a copy of the supplement to the severely disabled person’s ID card with the corresponding token.

Please note that transfers without your student ID number will not be processed. Be sure to meet the enrollment deadline specified in your admission letter—it is a strict deadline. 

After Successful Enrollment
Once you have uploaded all required documents and we have received your semester fee and M10 registration form, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg will make your enrollment certificate and enrollment notification available for download. The Augsburg Campus Card (CCA) is the student ID card of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg in the form of a multifunctional chip card. Before you can use the Campus Card for the first time, you must validate it at one of the designated stations. During validation, the information strip on the front of the card is printed with the current expiration date.

You will receive your enrollment certificate for the first semester and the Augsburg Campus Card (CCA) once the Student Affairs Office has reviewed and processed your enrollment application. These will be sent to you by mail. This may take some time. Thank you for your understanding. 

If any documents are still missing from your application, we will contact you to request them.
Please make every effort to provide the requested documents as quickly as possible to ensure a smooth process and to avoid any potential delays at the start of your studies.

To enroll, all prospective students (including those from an EU member state) must provide an electronic proof of health insurance from a statutory health insurance provider. 

The student registration process between health insurance providers and the university is conducted exclusively electronically.

Please contact your designated statutory health insurance provider before enrollment so that the provider can electronically transmit your insurance status to us.

Who can report your insurance status? Only statutory health insurance providers!

Case A

Are you already covered by a statutory health insurance provider under mandatory coverage, voluntary coverage, or as a dependent (family coverage)?

Contact your health insurance provider to have your insurance status reported to our university.

Case B 

Are you not yet insured with a statutory health insurance provider?
In that case, you must choose a health insurance provider and enroll with them.

Case C

You are exempt from insurance under Section 6 of the German Social Code, Book V (SGB V), not subject to mandatory insurance, or insured through a private health insurance provider: Contact the statutory health insurance provider with which you were last insured, or any other statutory health insurance provider (e.g., AOK at your place of residence or study) to submit your insurance registration to our university.

Case D

Are you privately insured or co-insured through a health insurance provider (e.g., through a parent or spouse)?

After submitting proof of coverage from your private health insurance provider, you can request that the statutory health insurance provider of your choice report your insurance coverage to our university.

Changing Health Insurance Providers

If you switch statutory health insurance providers during your studies, your health insurance provider will notify the university.

You must immediately notify the Student Affairs Office if you cancel your health insurance. Otherwise, you will not be able to re-enroll or continue your studies.

You must submit a new insurance registration request if you have been de-enrolled from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg and are re-enrolling for the next semester, e.g., in a different degree program.
