Information for First-Year Students

We are pleased to welcome you to the School of Business. Here you will find important information about the orientation and information sessions.

School of Business

With nearly 1,800 students enrolled in five bachelor’s and six master programs, we are the university’s largest faculty. Our extensive range of economics programs is characterized by its practical focus and international orientation, all delivered at a high academic level. Our master programs open up a wide range of career specialization opportunities for students. In doing so, we always keep in mind the mission of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg: to make our graduates “highly sought-after professionals.”

Research and scholarship do not take place in an ivory tower. We collaborate on academic programs and teaching with companies, associations, social groups, and other universities—both regionally and globally. Practical projects by student groups, bachelor’s and master’s theses conducted in collaboration with the business community, a mandatory internship semester in the bachelor programs, and the active promotion of study abroad opportunities for our students are integral parts of our curricular structures.

Whether in startups, corporations, public institutions, or as entrepreneurs—they carry the knowledge, experiences, and ideas from their time as students out into the world. The alumni network offers the opportunity to keep this connection alive:

  • Exchange & networking at events and expert lectures
  • Career inspiration through contacts with industry partners and companies
  • Lifelong learning through insights, workshops, and continuing education opportunities
  • Engagement & mentoring for the next generation of students

Research and Specialized Groups

At the School of Business, the focus is on applied research and the practical training of business professionals. We conduct research to ensure our teaching remains up-to-date, to support academic advancement through doctoral programs, and to facilitate the transfer of knowledge. In doing so, we address future-oriented topics related to people, society, and the economy.
