THA Scholarship Programs

Help nurture tomorrow’s skilled professionals while they’re still in school. Get to know dedicated and motivated THA students early on. Two programs—the nationally recognized Germany Scholarship and the THA’s own corporate scholarship—enable you to build early relationships with potential professionals. In addition, by providing a scholarship, you’ll help expand educational opportunities for many “first-in-family” students who come from non-academic households.

The Germany Scholarship—Creating Opportunities Through the Matching Fund

Germany needs talented young people. That is why the federal government and private sponsors are supporting the top talent of tomorrow. Together, they are committed to helping high-achieving students reach their full potential. As a private sponsor or a company, you, too, can support students at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences in this way.

The model:

  • 1 euro = 2 euros—for every euro donated by a private sponsor, the government contributes an additional euro.
  • A monthly scholarship of 300 euros for dedicated students.
  • Total annual cost to the private sponsor per scholarship: 1,800 euros.
  • Support through smaller amounts is possible.
  • The selection of scholarship recipients is the responsibility of the universities.

In addition to academic performance, social engagement and outstanding personal achievements are also taken into account when awarding the Germany Scholarship. This scholarship program therefore aligns perfectly with our brand promise to develop students into sought-after leaders in business and society.

  • You support motivated and dedicated young talent.
  • You can give opportunities your name—the scholarships can be named after you.
  • You can choose the field of study or degree program in which your scholarship will be awarded. As part of your funding commitment, you’ll work with the university to determine your priorities. In this way, you provide targeted support for specific areas of focus and academic departments and actively contribute to ensuring a supply of skilled professionals.
  • You’ll become part of a broad research and academic network, and by using the sponsorship logo, you’ll demonstrate that you’re actively contributing to education and training in the region and for the region.
  • Last but not least, your contribution is generally tax-deductible.

What Scholarship Recipients and Sponsors Say

Christian Stelzmüller
BSH Home Appliances GmbH

The Germany Scholarship is an important component of our partnership with Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. For us, the long-term partnership and close ties with the university are key—not just when there is an immediate need.

Sandra Sticker and Juliane Forster
Grünbeck Water Treatment GmbH / Loni and Josef Grünbeck Foundation

A scholarship gives students the freedom and time to both focus intensively on their studies and continue to be involved in social and volunteer activities.

Benedikt Hoffmann
Student

Thanks to the grant, I was able to afford a lot of materials and software for developing technical prototypes, and I had plenty of room to experiment and conduct research. I was also able to set aside a little money each month for my semester abroad.

The Corporate Scholarship—Bright Minds for Your Company

The Corporate Scholarship is a customized scholarship program offered by Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. Under this program, a company can specifically choose to support individual students. This tailored program is characterized by

  • a joint selection process
  • jointly defined eligibility criteria
  • a joint supplementary program (if desired)

You support the students with €300 per month for two semesters (1 year). This amounts to a total of €3,600 for the corporate scholarship. At the end of the funding period, you can decide whether you would like to continue supporting “your” scholarship recipient or open the scholarship to new applicants.

  • You’ll have the opportunity to meet highly qualified, academically trained young professionals and inspire them to join your company.
  • Students build a strong connection to your company and become familiar with its processes, structures, and corporate guidelines while they are still in school.
  • You’ll develop close ties with universities, thereby fostering technology and knowledge transfer.
  • Your company becomes increasingly attractive to top talent, and your corporate image improves.
  • Your sponsorship is generally tax-deductible.
