From the first spark of an idea to new perspectives

How do initial ideas develop into viable concepts? How can challenges be solved creatively and new technologies be applied in a targeted manner? These are the questions addressed by the Female Founders LAB, which is being offered for the first time by the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation – THA Funkenwerk.

This new course is open to female students from all faculties and teaches practical methods of design thinking, the use of generative artificial intelligence, and skills in presentation and leadership. The goal is to empower participants to further develop their own ideas, devise innovative solutions, and explore entrepreneurial opportunities.

The kickoff event alone demonstrated the high level of interest in this program within the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. The kick-off brought together enthusiastic female students eager to explore new ideas, innovation methods, and entrepreneurial challenges. In this way, the Female Founders LAB creates a space for exchange, new perspectives, and cross-faculty networking.

From Course Offerings to Your Own Startup Project

The Female Founders LAB also serves as a starting point for further startup activities at THA Funkenwerk. Female students who wish to refine their ideas and develop concrete startup plans can eventually join the HerVenture program. It supports women interested in entrepreneurship on their journey from the initial idea toward self-employment.

The next HerVenture cohort is scheduled to begin in March 2027. This creates a link between the academic curriculum and ongoing support for women who wish to discover their entrepreneurial potential and advance their own projects.

Through the Female Founders LAB, THA Funkenwerk is raising the profile of female entrepreneurship at the university and opening up new avenues for female students to engage with innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup ventures.
