Lecture Series: AI—The End of University Teaching?
The Political Perspective – with Prof. Dr. Michael Piazolo, Chair of the Committee on Science and the Arts in the Bavarian State Parliament, and Dr. Karin Hutflötz, philosopher and educational researcher at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt
AI—The End of Higher Education?
Artificial intelligence is changing not only how we learn, work, and generate knowledge, but also the skills and job profiles expected of graduates in the workforce. How must our toolkit (e.g., teaching formats, exams) and our self-image (e.g., the role of instructors) adapt to this? Is higher education losing its value? Or what can universities offer that AI cannot?
In this lecture series, our goal is less to deliver presentations and more to engage in dialogue with one another.
Faculty members from Augsburg University of Applied Sciences will discuss these issues with guests from politics, business, schools, and other sectors affected by this transformation. Together, we want to explore possible future scenarios—and ask how we need to shape higher education today in order to be prepared for them. The focus is not on the next AI application.
