Aichach Technology Transfer Center | Digital Design and Manufacturing in the Construction Industry
The Technology Transfer Center (TTZ) at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) in Aichach specializes in digital design and manufacturing in the construction industry. The goal: to make a significant contribution to a sustainable and future-proof construction industry. In close cooperation with companies from the construction industry and the skilled trades, researchers at the TTZ Aichach are developing innovative solutions for real-world needs in the fields of masonry construction and digital timber construction. These include resource-efficient building materials, additive and digital production methods, automated manufacturing processes, and digital planning tools, as well as the training of skilled workers through tailored education and continuing education programs.
The solutions developed at the TTZ Aichach are directly applied in businesses and construction projects.
The TTZ Aichach was established in 2023. It is funded as part of the Free State of Bavaria’s High-Tech Agenda Bavaria, as well as by the Aichach-Friedberg district and the city of Aichach.
The application for the TTZ Aichach was submitted jointly with the University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm (HNU). The goal was to establish the Technology Transfer Center “Digital and Sustainable Value Creation Systems,” which is intended to advance the transfer of knowledge and technology related to digital and sustainable value creation systems. The Bavarian Cabinet approved this on April 25, 2023. Consequently, the focus at the TTZ Aichach (THA) is on “Digital Planning and Manufacturing,” and at the TTZ Leipheim (HNU) on “Smart Production and Logistics.”
