How do we build for the future? The 23rd E2D Exhibition presents integrated design projects and innovative solutions from the Energy Efficient Planning and Building – E2D (B.Eng.) and Energy Efficiency Design – E2D (M.Eng.) programs. Accompanying guest lectures, presentations by Master’s students, and talks by alumni address current issues of climate and resource justice and offer insights into the future of sustainable construction.

How can buildings be architecturally compelling while also making the greatest possible contribution to climate protection? How can new and existing buildings be designed to offer a high level of comfort, have a minimal environmental impact, and keep resources in circulation for as long as possible in line with the principles of a circular economy?

The 23rd E2D Exhibition presents answers to these questions and offers insights into the diverse projects of the Energy Efficient Planning and Building (E2D) and Energy Efficiency Design (E2D) degree programs. The exhibition highlights the ever-increasing complexity of integrated design and construction: from initial exercises in spatial design and construction, through climate- and site-appropriate design concepts, to the integration of the building envelope, daylight utilization, indoor and outdoor environmental quality, resource efficiency, recyclability, life cycle assessment, and building physics and building services engineering requirements.

The focus is on the central challenge of sustainable architecture: How can a design process succeed in taking into account the multitude of different requirements, making their interactions visible, and leading to holistically optimized solutions?

This year’s exhibition focuses on the project modules from the winter semester of 2025. The works on display provide a current overview of the design assignments the students are currently working on and showcase innovative approaches to climate- and resource-conscious construction.

The exhibition will be on view from October 20 to November 3, 2026, on the second floor of Building C at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, and will also be available online starting October 20. The exhibition and accompanying lectures are open to the public and are aimed at anyone interested in the fields of architecture, planning, construction, and sustainability.
