In her master’s thesis, Milena Hög explores the future of Memmingen Hospital. Under the title HOSPITAL [ITY], she develops a concept for repurposing the building complex and demonstrates how existing hospital structures can be transformed into a diverse residential neighborhood. The design combines different types of housing and creates space for people in various life situations. The project’s inclusive approach and the high quality of the housing options developed were particularly commended.

The award was presented during the final round of the competition in Berlin, where the nominated graduates presented their work to a jury of German and Polish experts.

The Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering extends its warmest congratulations to Milena Hög on this achievement. The award not only recognizes the exceptional quality of her thesis but also underscores the potential of architectural concepts to address societal challenges with innovative and sustainable solutions.

The thesis was completed as part of the master program in Architecture under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernhard Irmler.
