Faculty Retreat 2026: Developing a Shared Vision for the Future

To kick things off, the participants visited the Baufritz company in Erkheim. The tour of the facility offered fascinating insights into modern manufacturing processes, sustainable building concepts, and current developments in wood and prefabricated construction. In addition, the participants were able to tour various model homes, which provided inspiration for teaching and research.

The faculty would like to extend its sincere thanks to Baufritz for the opportunity to visit, as well as for the interesting, engaging, and knowledgeable tour, which provided valuable insight into the practical aspects of sustainable construction.

The retreat then continued at the Ottobeuren Monastery. The focus was on current conditions and the faculty’s development in the coming years, as well as insights into ongoing research activities.
In addition, a joint team challenge provided an opportunity to continue the exchange outside of academic contexts and to strengthen collaboration across departments and disciplines.

On the second day this year, the professors delved deeper into sharing experiences related to externally funded projects and research initiatives.

The annual retreat offers the faculty the opportunity to collectively reflect on current issues, develop strategic perspectives, and actively shape its future direction. At the same time, it creates space for personal exchange across disciplines and areas of work.
