FAQs
The program is designed so that it can be completed in 3 semesters while working full-time. The estimated 20 weekend seminars and approximately 15 optional online coaching sessions are spread evenly across the semesters.
Seminar Times
» Fridays, usually 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
» Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
» Monday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (online coaching sessions)
The seminar dates are set at the beginning of the program, allowing for long-term planning. We keep the main vacation periods free of events. As is customary at universities, each seminar session lasts 45 minutes. Examinations are conducted in accordance with the study and examination regulations.
Weekend seminars take place on the Roter Tor campus of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. The kick-off seminar at the start of the program usually takes place off-campus. Online coaching sessions can be attended from any location with a suitable internet connection.
Admission requirements for the certificate program are
- a high school diploma or equivalent and several years of IT-related professional experience and/or
- a recognized degree in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering informatics, business informatics, or related IT-related fields, as well as
- an admission interview.
Applications must be submitted exclusively by email to it-pm(at)tha.de. Please submit the following documents:
- a cover letter
- a resume detailing your educational and professional background, including a photo
- Certificates (diploma, bachelor’s degree, and/or vocational training certificate)
- the completed applicant questionnaire
You can find all necessary forms (e.g., application materials and questionnaire) in the detailed program information, which you can easily request at any time via our contact form.
The application deadline is June 30 each year!
The number of available spots is limited to 25 students per cohort (combined for the certificate program and the master program). If more applications are received, the university will conduct a selection process. If applicants have the same qualifications, the date the application is received will be the deciding factor. Therefore, applying early is advantageous.
The admission interview is designed to help us determine together whether the IT Project and Process Management certificate aligns with your expectations and goals. At the same time, it gives us an idea of your motivation and your professional experience to date.
To prepare, you can ask yourself the following questions:
- What has my career path been like so far, and what specialized knowledge do I bring to the table?
- What professional goals do I hope to achieve in the future?
- What are my expectations for the program, and why do I want to study while working?
- Can I set aside enough time to complete my studies alongside my job?
- Do I have the time needed to balance my studies, career, and personal life?
You, the program director, and the program coordinator will participate in the meeting. It usually lasts about 30 minutes. You’ll receive feedback on the outcome immediately afterward.
Tuition for the Master’s in IT Project and Process Management is currently 13,200 euros. This amount already includes, among other things, exam fees. Payment is made in four installments, each due at the beginning of a semester.
1st semester | 2nd semester | 3rd semester | 4th and 5th semesters | Total |
Tuition fees, including expenses, are fully tax-deductible as job-related expenses for continuing education in one’s current profession.
Germany Scholarship at THA
Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg participates in the German federal government’s national scholarship program, thereby supporting particularly talented and dedicated students. With the Germany Scholarship, you receive not only financial support but also non-financial support through a strong network.
The application period opens once a year during the summer semester. The scholarship is initially awarded for at least one year; continued funding is possible thereafter.
You can find more information about the application process and eligibility requirements directly on the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg website under “Deutschlandstipendium.”
To give you as much flexibility as possible in balancing work, personal life, and your studies, a large portion of the modules in the certificate program are offered in a hybrid format. You can therefore decide for yourself whether you’d like to attend the seminars in person or online via Zoom. To ensure you get the most out of online participation, we’ve equipped our new seminar rooms with state-of-the-art media technology for hybrid teaching.
On a few occasions, your in-person attendance is required (e.g., for the kick-off seminar, written exams, and the Apollo 13 simulation) or is recommended by us due to the high level of interaction and collaboration involved (e.g., in the modules on project management, Soft Skills Techniques and Leadership in Projects, and Agile Project Management).
On your end, you’ll need a fast and stable internet connection, a good microphone, and a webcam for online participation.
