Industrial Engineering – Understanding Technology, Shaping the Economy, Developing the Future

As an industrial engineer, you combine technical expertise with business acumen. Whether in project management, sales, procurement, production, digitalization, or sustainability—you develop solutions that help companies succeed. This is the perfect fit for you if you want to help shape the future through an interdisciplinary approach!

Combined with your vocational training and professional experience, you’ll embark on a part-time degree program offering excellent career opportunities and a wide range of career paths!

Important: Modules from vocational training and continuing education programs—such as technician, master craftsman, and business administration and technical management certifications—are recognized!

Plus: If you’ve already completed a degree in business administration, you can shorten the program to 4–5 semesters!

Course Content

Semesters 1–4: Fundamentals

During the first four semesters, students take foundational courses in the fields of engineering, business, and STEM.

Semesters 5–8:

During the specialization phase, you and your class will define your areas of focus based on your interests by carefully selecting the specialized elective modules (FWP).

Practical Training Phases While Working

Two practical phases are scheduled during the program, which all working students in suitable professional fields (related to business or engineering) can complete without additional effort while working during the standard 8-semester program. We’d be happy to advise you on this and confirm before you begin your studies whether you meet this requirement. (In individual cases where your professional field is too far removed from business or technical issues, the practical phases may be replaced by two additional practical semesters.)

Wing Module Table

How is the program organized?

A part-time degree program is structured differently to make it feasible to pursue while working.
Here are the main differences from full-time degree programs:

  • Class times: approximately 26 weeks per year; Tuesday evenings
    until 9:15 p.m.,
    Friday afternoons until 6:55 p.m.,
    and Saturdays until 3:00 p.m.
  • Refreshments are provided during breaks.
  • Those who cannot attend in person can join the lecture online.
  • Exams are always on Saturdays.
  • Make-up exams are held at the beginning of the semester (not at the end).
  • There are no classes during Bavarian school breaks and semester breaks.

The program is considered continuing education and therefore requires tuition. The semester fee is €2,500 per semester. These fees are tax-deductible.
