Prospective doctoral candidates

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) offers those interested in research with a master's degree (for requirements, see the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act (BayHIG) of August 5, 2022, Part 2, Chapter 6, Section 4, Art. 97, Para. 1, Sentence 2, 1) the opportunity to pursue a doctorate directly at the THA or in cooperation with national and international partners. In most cases, doctoral candidates are research assistants at the THA. However, so-called external doctorates (with funding not provided by the THA) are also possible.

Currently, nearly 90 young scientists are pursuing doctoral degrees at or with the THA, conducting practice-oriented and application-oriented research on forward-looking issues. In addition to the technical support provided by THA professors, the THA offers doctoral students a comprehensive range of services through its Graduate School, consisting of counseling, further training, and networking, which contributes to the success of their own scientific qualifications.
