We foster international exchange, build global partnerships, and support students, faculty, staff, and international guests.

Responsibilities at a Glance:

  • Advising students on opportunities abroad (academic studies, internships, short-term stays) and awarding scholarships
  • Supporting international exchange students and international delegations
  • Advising and supporting university staff 
  • Coordinating the visiting lecturer program
  • Advising and providing (financial) support to international students
  • Coordinating the following projects: Erasmus+, THA_connect, Study@THA, PROMOS, and STIBET I
  • Maintaining and strengthening THA’s international relations, collaborations, and networks
  • Coordination of processes for establishing international university partnerships (focus: teaching and learning)
  • International higher education marketing and student recruitment

The International Office oversees a number of projects designed to support international cooperation and assist international students.

Erasmus+ – Enriching Lives, Opening Minds

The Erasmus+ Project 2021–2027 at Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) strengthens international cooperation and provides students and university staff with valuable opportunities to gain experience abroad in Europe.

A key focus is on funded study, traineeship, teaching and professional development opportunities, as well as cooperation with international higher education institutions, companies and other organisations. The programme also supports partnerships that foster cooperation and innovation, as well as European university networks.

The current Erasmus+ programme places particular emphasis on inclusion, environmental sustainability and digital transformation. In this way, the project makes an important contribution to the internationalisation of THA, promotes European exchange and creates new opportunities for education, personal development and cross-border cooperation.
