Information Security Policy

The operation of a university depends to a large extent on the quality of its IT services. Users’ trust in information technology forms the basis for its successful use. To justify this trust, the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of IT services and data must be ensured.

This guideline is mandatory for all users and service providers of the information technologies used at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg.

An IT Emergency Hotline has been set up in Bavaria for businesses; it is also affiliated with the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office. It can be accessed via the website

and provides assistance and support in cases of criminal offenses and in the area of threat mitigation.

You should NOT expect the following from the IT Emergency Hotline:

  • It does not provide advice or assistance with purely technical problems.
  • No product support is provided.
  • No legal advice is provided.
  • For reasons related to public procurement and liability law, we cannot arrange for assistance from private companies or recommend software or hardware products.
  • This is NOT a police emergency hotline! In an emergency, call 110!
