At the Forefront of Research

In research projects, the future is shaped through collaboration. Here, researchers work with industry partners to develop concrete solutions for current and future needs in business and society. In this way, current challenges give rise to innovative solutions—depending on the task and problem at hand, either in smaller teams or in larger consortia together with partners from business, society, and academia.

Collaborative Projects

As part of collaborative projects involving multiple partners, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg translates research findings and developments into practical solutions with and for businesses. Current collaborative projects in which THA researchers are actively involved include the Augsburg AI Production Network—a consortium of numerous AI experts in the greater Augsburg area, funded as part of the Free State of Bavaria’s High-Tech Agenda Plus—and the Circular Textiles (CirTex)—one of 20 innovation communities in the DATIpilot funding program of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR).

Collaborative Research and Technology Transfer Projects

Transfer partners from industry and society collaborate with researchers at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg to develop innovative solutions to their current challenges as part of cooperative research and transfer projects. To this end, experts specializing in various fields from all seven faculties at THA contribute to these projects, addressing a wide range of topics—both discipline-specific and interdisciplinary.
