Students in the International Management program acquire a balanced mix of methodological, subject-specific, and interpersonal skills during their studies. The program is strongly focused on globally active companies and includes a high proportion of courses taught in English. All students learn a second foreign language relevant to business and spend either a semester of study or a practical semester abroad. Through group work, seminars, and projects, they learn to apply their specialized knowledge in real-world contexts. The program offers:

  • a solid foundation in economics
  • application-oriented expertise
  • a mandatory semester abroad
  • at least two foreign languages relevant to business

Course Content

The bachelor program in International Management specifically prepares students for management roles in an international setting. In addition to business English, students acquire proficiency in another foreign language relevant to business. Many courses are taught in English.

A mandatory semester of study or internship abroad fosters international experience and intercultural competence. The curriculum combines business administration with international legal and management topics, as well as the future-oriented competencies of internationality, sustainability, and digitalization.

Students can choose their own areas of focus through specialized and elective modules, as well as by focusing on specific linguistic and cultural regions. Extensive practical components, corporate partnerships, and projects complement the program.

Before the program begins, the “Startklar” program offers the opportunity to refresh knowledge in certain foundational subjects (e.g., mathematics, English, etc.). The program begins with an orientation fair, and first-semester students are supported by mentors from higher semesters at the start of their studies. Information sessions and quality assurance activities also take place on an ongoing basis throughout the program.

The business administration program was voted by students into the top tier nationwide in the renowned CHE University Ranking.

International

This degree program truly embodies internationality. A key feature is a mandatory study abroad period—either a semester of academic study or an internship—during the course of study. Additionally, students have the option of earning a dual degree at one of the partner universities.

Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg maintains a large network of partner universities worldwide. Approximately 150 incoming and outgoing students each year ensure an intensive student exchange program. International Week offers a diverse lecture series featuring guests from our partner universities and opportunities for personal networking. Internationally oriented courses, Business English, and a second foreign language for business (French, Italian, Spanish, or Chinese) are central components of the degree program. A large proportion of the courses are taught in English. In addition, international visiting lecturers are regularly invited to teach courses as part of the degree program. Students have the opportunity to earn a Cultural Region Certificate in addition to their degree if they specialize in a specific language and cultural region by selecting appropriate courses during their studies.
