Service Learning at THA
Learning That Makes an Impact
Thinking outside the box, applying knowledge in practical ways, and taking on social responsibility in the process: Service learning combines academic study with concrete engagement in society.
Students first engage with a topic from a disciplinary and academic perspective and then apply their knowledge to real-world challenges—for example, in collaboration with nonprofit organizations, social institutions, or other partners in society. This creates spaces for learning and experience where theory and practice are directly intertwined.
Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg views service learning as an important component of a practice-oriented and responsible higher education. In the process, students not only deepen their subject-specific knowledge but also develop skills such as teamwork, communication, project management, and the ability to incorporate different perspectives.
