About the Lab
The Artificial Worlds Lab conducts research on the design and use of digital spaces for experiences and interaction. Its focus is on virtual reality, immersive environments, and how people perceive and interact with virtual worlds. Another area of focus is human-AI interaction, particularly the use of generative AI in creative, social, and work-related contexts.
Students and researchers develop and evaluate interactive applications, virtual scenarios, and AI-based interfaces. The goal is to explore new forms of human-machine interaction and to design digital systems that are intuitive, understandable, and user-centered.

Areas of Application in Research, Teaching, and Knowledge Transfer
The lab hosts research projects, as well as internships, project-based assignments, and theses on the following topics:
- Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
- Virtual Reality (VR) and Immersive Interaction
- Human-AI Interaction and Generative AI
- Interaction Design
Researchers and students design, develop, and evaluate interactive applications and prototypes. The focus is on how people interact with digital, virtual, and AI-based systems and how this interaction can be designed to be intuitive, effective, and user-centered.
