Central IT Guidelines for the Use of the Campus Card and Access Control to University Facilities

As a member of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, you are registered in the access control system with your chip card (Campus Card Augsburg – CCA). This grants you access, among other things, to the computer labs at the Computer Center and the computers located there, as well as to the library, during their respective hours of operation. Depending on your degree program or faculty, you will also receive access permissions to specific rooms in your faculty’s buildings, as well as to building entrances and gates.

The chip card functions as a key. It may only be used by you personally and strictly for its intended purpose. In particular, you must not pass the chip card on to others or use it to grant others access. Your access to buildings, rooms, and computers is recorded anonymously (chip card number). In this context, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg expressly points out that in cases of misuse, damage, theft, etc., your presence in the rooms in question and at the times in question can be traced. In the event of improper use of the chip card—particularly if the card is transferred to a third party—THA may exercise its right to manage its premises and restrict access privileges in terms of location and/or time, or revoke them entirely.

The chip card thus replaces a key but does not waive any of the conditions under which you are permitted to use the rooms as well as the computers and equipment therein. In the Central IT facilities and so-called open labs, you may use the computers and printers, but only in accordance with the guidelines for using the IT infrastructure of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg.

You will only be granted access to so-called “closed labs” in specific cases, namely for project work, theses, or similar purposes. In such cases, you may only use the computers and equipment that are expressly designated for your work. The applicable safety regulations must be observed in all cases.
