Searching library collections

You can search library catalogs for books, e-books, and journals. The search covers metadata such as author, title, ISBN, and keywords.

We recommend searching the following two catalogs:

  1. The THA library catalog for searching the collections of the THA and other academic libraries in Augsburg and Bavaria.
  2. Karlsruhe Virtual Katalog (KVK) for searching throughout Germany.

You can order materials found in these catalogs that are not available in Augsburg free of charge through interlibrary loan.

Scientific databases

Databases provide you with full-text access (usually PDFs) to e-books, e-journals, academic papers, standards, and more.

Database searches generally also scan the full texts themselves and include publications at the chapter and article levels. 
The search results can therefore be more comprehensive than those from a metadata search in a library catalog.

To use and download full texts for free, you must be connected to the campus network (for guests: on a computer located in the library).

OPUS – THA publication server

OPUS is a directory of publications authored by members of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. In some cases, direct access to the full text is available.

Selected theses produced at THA are also available there. 

OPUS also serves as a university bibliography, providing an overview of the various fields of study, activities, and research at THA.
