THA Library online catalog

Catalog search, interlibrary loan portal, library account.

In the online catalog, you can find materials available at the THA Library and other academic libraries in Augsburg and throughout Bavaria.

Search for books, journals, non-book materials (e.g., feature films and documentaries, language courses), as well as a large number of journal articles ("Articles & More").
Guests can access linked e-books and e-journals on the library’s on-site computers.

Materials not available in Augsburg libraries can be ordered free of charge via interlibrary loan for pickup at the THA Library.

You can also view your THA library account here and renew loan periods.

Searching tricks

When searching the library catalog, the system searches metadata such as author, title, ISBN, and keywords.

The “Articles & More” tab provides results from some of the databases licensed by the library, including articles from journals, conference proceedings, and similar sources. However, not all of THA’s databases are indexed under “Articles & More.” For full-text searches, comprehensive search results, and access to full texts, we generally recommend accessing the databases directly.

  • Quick Filter
    • By default, the search is limited to the THA library’s collection. If you’d like to expand your search, you can also filter the results by “Augsburg” or “Bavaria” to include other libraries in the search.
    • You can also quickly specify whether you want to see only print media (physical media) or only electronic media (online media).
  • Format: Narrow your results by type of medium; for example, choose to display only journals.
  • Subject: Use the quick filter to narrow down results by broad subject area.
  • Subject Headings: Each title in the catalog is described by subject headings. By selecting subject headings, you can highlight specific thematic areas in your results list.
  • Year: Specify the publication years from which the results should be drawn.
  • Language: Here you can, for example, set the search to find only German-language materials.
  • Person: Filter by author or editor name

If you select multiple criteria within a filter block, at least one must apply for the title to appear in the results list (OR operator for the criteria); individual filter blocks are linked with an AND operator.

Applied filters are listed below the search bar and can be removed individually or completely by clicking “Reset Filters.”

  • By default, the results list is sorted by relevance.
  • When searching for printed books, we recommend sorting by “Newest First.”

Interlibrary loan

You can order materials that are not available in Augsburg free of charge through the interlibrary loan service for pickup at the THA Library.

Some journal articles and book chapters can be found under the “Articles and More” tab in the library catalog.

However, not all licensed individual articles are listed here. Also, full-text searches are not available in the library catalog. We therefore recommend searching for articles through the databases.

No. Searches in the library catalog are limited to metadata such as titles, keywords (and, in some cases, the table of contents).

To search the full text of an e-journal or e-book, you must use the databases.
