Medical Technology Meets Clinical Practice
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering invites its medical technology students to a very special innovation workshop on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Alte Mensa at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg.
What's the plan?
Medical professionals, clinical facilities, and medical technology companies had until early September to submit practical challenges and ideas related to medical technology. The call for submissions sought specific problems encountered in everyday clinical or medical technology practice for which new technical solutions could be developed. Each submission included a brief, two-page description providing information on the initial situation, the problem at hand, the users affected, and the expected benefits of an improved solution.
How does the workshop work?
The workshop will take the form of a “conceptathon”*. Submissions will be presented on the morning of the workshop. Afterward, interdisciplinary teams from the fields of medicine and engineering will develop solution concepts, which will be presented at the end of the day.

What is the purpose of the workshop?
The innovation workshop is designed to bring together users, developers, and companies to jointly address specific challenges in health care and foster new collaborations.
