From Building Blocks to Broad Prospects for the Future: Working Together to Promote STEM Education

Despite the summer heat, everyone was thrilled: In partnership with the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) and TUXEDO Computers, St. Anna Elementary School in Augsburg received ten LEGO SPIKE Essential sets. The handover took place on Wednesday morning during the ongoing renovation and marks the start of introducing children in third grade and up to STEM topics through play.

New Bachelor's Degree Program in "Physical AI"

A new bachelor’s degree program at THA: Starting in the 2026–2027 winter semester, students at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) will be able to pursue a degree in “Physical AI (B.Sc.).” The program focuses on the development and application of intelligent systems.

Under the title “This Is How Creative Computer Scientists Work,” 20 female students from Augsburg and the surrounding area got a taste of college life on April 22, 2026. Through 3D printing and programming with LEGO SPIKE, the students were able to demonstrate their creativity.

About 100 alumni gathered on January 16, 2026, for the first ALUMNI MEET-and-GREET @ THA Computer Science at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. Following welcoming remarks by Dean Prof. Dr. Alexander von Bodisco and the faculty’s alumni liaison, Prof. Dr. Stefan Bensch, the event—featuring a champagne reception, inspiring talks, and an entertaining “3-Dean Pitch”—focused primarily on reunions, conversation, and networking.
