If you have a foreign high school diploma, you must also submit an officially certified translation and the preliminary evaluation documentation (VPD) issued by www.uni-assist.de or the Bavarian Certificate Recognition Office.

Yes, the HZB/VPD can be submitted by August 15, 2026. Please upload your high school diploma to the HISinOne applicant portal as soon as you receive it.

In English; in later semesters, students may also choose modules taught in German. Please note that a good to very good command of English (at least level B2, as recommended by the CEFR) is required for this degree program.

• In the first foreign language, Technical English, yes.
• If German is your native language, you must choose another second foreign language (e.g., Italian, Spanish, French, Chinese). For these languages, a placement test is usually administered at the beginning of the program so that you can start at your individual level and take the subsequent language courses tailored to your proficiency.

• German-speaking students (native speakers or those with a proficiency level above C1.2) have the option of choosing another foreign language from those offered by the Language Center (e.g., Italian, Spanish, French, Chinese).

• According to the SPO, you must complete four German courses that build on one another.
• The German courses can only be taken in ascending order: once you’ve been assigned to the first course, you can only move on to the next higher-level course.
• Course assignments are based on the certificates you submit or the information in your application/resume. An internal placement test can only result in an upgrade.
• If you fail an exam or do not take it, you cannot enroll in the subsequent course.

• Average grade on the university entrance qualification (HZB)
  Note: For foreign high school diplomas, an officially certified translation and the preliminary examination documentation (VPD) must also be submitted through uni-assist.ev or the Bavarian Certificate Recognition Office.
• A brief written essay in four sections explaining the rationale for choosing the degree program. We therefore recommend that you thoroughly research the degree program, its curriculum, and the career prospects associated with it.
• In addition to the required documents, you may voluntarily submit additional materials to improve your chances of securing a spot in the program:
  • specified German language tests (see the “Language Proficiency” section) and/or
     
  • specified English proficiency tests (see the “Language Proficiency” section) to increase your score by 2 points.
     
  • relevant vocational training or other professional work experience (at least 4 weeks) and previous degrees in the field of Information Systems / Business Informatics or related subjects (Computer Science, Business Administration, or Economics). The supporting documents must be written in English or German. Score increased by 2.

• If you are currently enrolled in a degree program, please also upload your transcripts.

We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated candidates. To this end, we use an aptitude assessment process.

How long is the aptitude test valid?
The aptitude test is valid for one year.

How much time do I have to complete the aptitude test?
Selection process via aptitude test: After submitting your online application, you have one week to complete this process.

You will receive the link to the aptitude test as part of the application process while you are applying online for the "International Information Systems" program via the HISinOne portal.

Yes, through:

1. defined German tests (see the section on language proficiency certificates) and/or
    
2. specified English tests (see the “Language Proficiency” section) by improving your score by 2.
    
3. relevant vocational training or other professional work experience (at least 4 weeks) and previous degrees in the field of Information Systems/Business Informatics or related subjects (Computer Science, Business Administration, or Economics). The supporting documents must be written in English or German. This results in a 2-point increase in the score. (Please also upload a resume in tabular format.)

Language proficiency certificates must be uploaded during the aptitude test and in the HISinOne application portal.

When will I receive my admission letter?
Once you have received an offer of admission from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, you can download your admission letter yourself from the HISinOne applicant portal. Admission letters will be made available after the application deadline.

In what language is the admission letter issued?
Admission letters are issued in German.

Yes, you can apply for a visa with the admission notice.

From October through December, students who are not yet able to be on campus will have hybrid classes (with the exception of language courses). However, exams starting in January must be taken in person on campus.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide definitive information regarding course credit transfer until you have enrolled. However, you can check for yourself whether the courses in question meet the prerequisites.

The prerequisites are:

1. Is my previous institution recognized? Please check on Anabin to see if your previous institution has an H+ rating.
2. Is the content of individual IIS modules comparable to previous modules? Compare the module and course content information. You can find the IIS module handbooks on our website. Only academic achievements that were not required for university admission eligibility can be transferred.
3. Are the credit points for the modules to be recognized greater than or equal to the required number? Compare the module handbooks in terms of workload. You can combine modules from your previous studies in terms of content and credit points.
4. In which language have you studied so far? The language of instruction is normally English; some German-language courses may be selected. Foreign-language and German-language modules can therefore only be recognized to a certain extent. A more detailed review will be necessary after enrollment.
5. Can I have elective-required courses recognized? Elective-required courses offer a very flexible option for recognition (up to 30 CP—28 CP for subject-related elective-required courses and 2 CP for general academic electives); for example, from any previous modules. These do not have to correspond to the courses listed in our required elective catalog. It is important that there be no overlap with required courses in order for them to be recognized.
