Advisory Board Meeting 2026

On June 12, 2026, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg welcomed numerous representatives from regional companies to the 3rd Advisory Board meeting for the Data Science program. We were particularly pleased with the high level of participation from both the companies and the students.

To begin, Prof. Dr. Caroline Justen and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bischof, who lead the program, provided an overview of the current developments in the Data Science program at THA. This was followed by a presentation by Simon Gjini, a sixth-semester student, on the topic: “Similarity of Parts: Development of a Deep Learning System for Geometric Similarity Searches for Metal Components.”

The event concluded successfully with a get-together that facilitated direct interaction between students and company representatives in a relaxed atmosphere. The event offered students an excellent opportunity to establish valuable contacts for upcoming internships, bachelor’s theses, and their future careers.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all participating companies for providing our students with insights into professional practice, fostering professional exchange, and sharing their experiences and ideas with us.

Advisory Board Meeting Becomes the Data Science Career Fair!

Under its new name, the event will continue as the “Data Science Career Fair.” The next event is tentatively scheduled for March 2027.
