Course Content

The master program in Electrical Engineering combines comprehensive specialized knowledge and skills in the field of Electrical Enigneering and Information Technology. The curriculum focuses on thoroughly deepening students’ methodological skills and acquiring practice-oriented specialized knowledge. In addition, special emphasis is placed on fostering independent work and interdisciplinary thinking.

The three-semester program is divided into a specialization phase (2 semesters) and concludes with a thesis, which takes place during the final semester. It builds on the foundations of a bachelor’s degree program and includes specialized lectures in the field of Electrical Enigneering and Information Technology.

In the first semester, project work is offered alongside the lectures. As an alternative, students have the option of participating in a single, larger, practice-oriented project.
In the second semester, students further specialize, with the interdisciplinary component encouraged by the freedom to choose courses from related faculties. Possible areas of specialization* include:

  • Industrial Security
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Energy and Automation

In addition, a master’s project is scheduled, which helps shape the academic focus of the master’s program.

The master’s thesis in the third semester marks the completion of the program; it not only facilitates entry into the workforce but also fosters a scientific, methodological approach as preparation for a doctoral degree.

*subject to Senate approval
