Course Content

The master program in Mechatronic Engineering combines comprehensive specialized knowledge and skills in the field of mechatronics. The curriculum focuses on a thorough deepening of methodological skills as well as the acquisition of practice-oriented
specialized knowledge. In addition, special emphasis is placed on fostering independent work and interdisciplinary thinking.

The three-semester program is divided into a specialization phase (2 semesters) and concludes with the thesis, which takes place during the final semester. It builds upon the foundations of a bachelor’s degree program and includes specialized lectures in the field of mechatronics.

In the first semester, project work is offered alongside the lectures. As an alternative, students have the option of participating in a single, larger, practice-oriented project.
In the second semester, students further deepen their knowledge, with the interdisciplinary component encouraged by the free selection of courses from related faculties. In addition, a master’s project is scheduled, which helps shape the academic focus of the master’s program.

The master’s thesis in the third semester marks the completion of the program; it not only facilitates entry into the workforce but also fosters a scientific, methodical approach as preparation for a doctoral degree.

Career Prospects

This master’s program will prepare you for challenging roles in the field of mechatronics, whether in operational or strategic management, or in technical or scientific specialization.

Possible career paths include roles in product development, system integration, project management, and production planning, as well as in customer service at large corporations, medium-sized companies, startups, and research institutions.
