Events to Help You Get Off to a Good Start in College

To help students prepare for the start of their studies, the faculties at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg offer the “Startklar” program for incoming students.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering offers the following course as part of this program:

Bridge Course in Mathematics for Engineering, from Monday, September 21, to Friday, September 25, 2026

  • Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The course takes place in person on campus in Room B 2.14.

Registration for the courses will open shortly. Participation in the Startklar program requires a fee (€50 flat rate).

Activate your Campus Card

The Campus Card is the student ID card at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg; it takes the form of a multifunctional chip card. It also serves as your payment card for the student dining hall or cafeteria, your library card, and much more. You can find more information on the Central IT website.

Request a user ID

You'll need this, among other things, for your university email address or Wi-Fi access. You can submit the application on the Central IT website.

Log in to Moodle

Moodle is THA’s e-learning platform. The link to it is located in the upper right corner under “Login.” Get a little familiar with the structure before the semester begins. However, many courses are only accessible with a password, which you’ll usually receive from your instructors during the first class session.

Find out about events before and at the start of your studies

For example, the THA’s schools offer the “Startklar” courses. There is also a THA First-Semester Day and an orientation period organized by the student council. You can find more information about these and other events here.

Start of Studies

In the class schedule, you'll find the rooms and times for each study group.

Changes to the lecture schedule, as well as information on course registration or the start of internships before the semester begins, are also posted there via information points.

The access control policies are described in detail on the Central IT website. There you’ll also find links to a page where you can check the access permissions for your specific Campus Card. The page also includes information on how to request access outside of the standard authorized hours.

In addition to the student parking lot, there are public parking spaces available nearby:

  • Frischstraße—south of the railroad tracks, about 400 m from the “Campus Brunnenlech”
  • Spickelbad—on Friedberger Straße, about 700 m from the “Campus am Roten Tor”

We provide you with information on topics relevant to your studies primarily through the website, and to some extent through informational events or via email.

However, as part of your obligation to participate, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary information on your own regarding course registration, exam registration, exam dates, permitted aids, re-registration deadlines, etc. It’s your responsibility to stay informed!

If you have any questions about this or notice any discrepancies, please feel free to contact the relevant representatives.

A lot of information—for example, from the Moodle learning platform or regarding questions about applications submitted to the examination committee—is sent via email to your university email address (usually vorname.nachname@tha.de). Therefore, it is absolutely essential that you check your email at this address regularly or set up a forwarding in SoGo to another email address that you check regularly.
