Industrial AI – Foundation Level is a part-time certificate program designed for technical specialists and managers in the industrial sector. The goal is not only to understand Industrial AI, but also to evaluate industrial challenges in a structured manner and to identify initial implementation steps within one’s own professional or business context.
The new certificate program provides guidance in a dynamic field of technology and helps participants professionally assess the potential of artificial intelligence in industrial processes, production, engineering, and value creation.
Industrial AI is more than just a technology trend
It is transforming the way industrial processes are planned, controlled, and optimized, and is increasingly reshaping day-to-day industrial work. As part of this certificate program, you will develop a solid understanding of how data, algorithms, and systems interact and how this interaction creates—or can create in the future—concrete added value in your company’s day-to-day operations. You’ll learn to systematically analyze typical problems from your own work environment and translate them into meaningful use cases so that they can be appropriately solved with the help of or through AI (partially automated). This involves not only technology but also the right interplay between people, organizations, and technology.
There is a special focus on practical applicability: You’ll work with realistic examples, reflect on your own use cases, and develop a sense of where the use of Industrial AI is truly worthwhile—and where it isn’t.

FAQs
The part-time certificate program in Industrial AI – Foundation Level is designed to be completed over two semesters while working. The program’s structure makes it possible to optimally balance continuing education with a full-time job.
At the beginning of each semester, there are one or two intensive block weeks (September/October and February/March) during which core content is taught in depth. Participants can plan their guided self-study work flexibly according to their own schedules.
As the semester progresses, the course content is reinforced through regular in-person sessions. Typically, a two-day session (Friday afternoon and Saturday) takes place once a month at the THA. All seminar dates are set at the beginning of the program, allowing for reliable, long-term planning.
The in-person sessions take place on the campus of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg.

The application deadline is August 31 for enrollment in the winter semester.
Tuition is €4,495 per semester and includes exam fees and seminar materials. Tuition is due in installments at the beginning of each semester. Other expenses (e.g., for meals, lodging, and travel) are not included in the tuition.
