AI-Supported, VR-Based German Language Learning for Future Professionals

Project Description

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Alice Gruber, a professor in the Faculty of Applied Humanities and Natural Sciences, customized AI-supported VR scenarios are being developed for various professional fields. In particular, the research examines the role that linguistic support measures (scaffolding) and AI chatbots with regional accents play in VR for learning outcomes, as well as how VR designs—including optimized text presentation—can enhance reading proficiency in technical language. 

The findings will be directly applied and implemented in vocational education curricula and will refine the design principles for future immersive learning offerings. The project is funded by the DFG for three years.
