The AGN Faculty offers two very special learning spaces: the Methods Lab and the Scale-Up Room.

Methods Lab n3

The n3 Methods Lab was developed to provide additional space for practice-oriented and competency-based learning at THA.

The n3 Methods Lab offers opportunities to learn social work methods in an atmosphere that is as open and supportive as possible. Here, social work students can gain practical experience with and experiment with basic counseling skills. Of course, the lab is also available for use by students in other degree programs.

SCALE UP Room

SCALE-UP stands for “Student-Centered Active Learning Environment with Upside-down Pedagogies”—a concept that focuses on active learning. Students work in groups at round tables, while instructors provide guidance, advice, and support.

SCALE-UP spaces enable a new quality of teaching and learning: moving away from lecture-style instruction—toward active participation, collaboration, and individualized support.
